Abrun daughter of Irshad is six years old, hails from village Nehda-Nuh, Ujeena district Mewat, Haryana. She is the eldest daughter of the three children born to Irshad. They live in a joint family. Abrun’s father is a farmer and he toils day and night in the farm for providing a better living to his family. One day while Irshad was fixing a broken chair, little Abrun was playing next to her father. She got hurt accidentally by iron nail in her right eye. Panicked Irshad took his daughter immediately to a nearby clinic for the treatment.

The doctor gave some medicine along with an eye drop, which was of no help to Abrun’s suffering. Irshad was worried about her daughter’s eye. His wife shared the incident with one of his relative living in Ujeena, who suggested her to bring Abrun in the eye camp organized by ICARE at their village.

Abrun’s father without any delay brought Abrun in the eye camp, where she was immediately screened and found having traumatic cataract. She was referred to the base hospital for the further treatment. At the time of admission in the base hospital, her vision was recorded as PL+, PR unreliable in the right eye. After proper investigation and preparing her for General Anesthesia she was operated on 8th March, 2017. At the time of discharge on 15th March, her vision improved to 6/18+ in the right eye.

It is because of WonderWork support, Abrun’s regained her lost vision. Her father is eagerly looking forward to get his child admitted in a school where she can get educated and wishes her to become a doctor.
