Thirty nine year old homemaker Simmi, has a small family comprising of her husband (Abdul Rehman) and two children. Her son is pursuing BA – 1st year through correspondence and daughter is in 12th standard. Abdul is the only breadwinner of the family, the salary which he receives is very low as compared to his family’s expense, with great difficulty they are managing their household and children’s education.

Simi started facing trouble in her eye two years ago due to financial constraints she did not shared her eye problem with her husband. Her day-to-day work was becoming difficult; getting her eyes checked was the last thing on her mind but after her son’s education.

Simmi was fortunate enough that one of her neighbor shared about eye camp organized by ICARE in Khora and asked her to visit the camp for the free treatment. Simmi without any delay, came for her eye test in the camp where she was diagnosed having cataract and advised for surgery. She shared her financial crisis with the counselor to which the counselor told that the surgery would be done free of cost. She informed her husband and happily boarded the ambulance with the rest of the patients.

At the base hospital, she was examined thoroughly, next day she was operated upon the left eye to get the cataract treated. After surgery with vision restored she feels that all her problems are over and can take proper care of her family. She is very thankful to the entire of ICARE for restoring her lost vision.
